Boise Art Museum

In addition to permanent collections and weekly community events, Boise Art Museum hosts 20 special exhibitions per year. “BAM” has hosted classical and contemporary collections from artists of various nationalities and specialties, continuously offering an educational visual experience for Boise citizens and visitors alike. For three days each September, the Museum hosts Art in the Park, an open-air festival at Julia Davis Park that showcases the works of more than 200 artists, along with live entertainment, interactive games for children and fabulous food.

Basque Block

The Treasure Valley is home to a deeply proud, close-knit Basque community of nearly 16,000 first- and second-generation immigrants. Known as “The Basque Block,” the area between 6th and Capitol Boulevard on Grove Street features lively museums, shops, restaurants, and events celebrating the heritage of this autonomous region of Spain.

The Boise Greenbelt

Expanding over 25 miles, this scenic pedestrian and bicycle path winds its way along the Boise River and the many coffee shops and outdoor cafés of Boise, Garden City, and Eagle. In addition to the wildlife and endless greenery, it also offers easy access to historical monuments such as the Black History Museum, the Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial, Julia Davis Park/Zoo Boise, Lucky Peak, the Western Idaho Fairgrounds, and the Boise State University campus.

Idaho State Historical Museum

Immerse yourself in the legends and lore of Idaho, from the prehistoric era through the fur- trading days, the gold rush, and pioneer settlements. Established in 1907, Idaho's largest and most popular museum offers a fascinating look at Idaho’s history and people.

Zoo Boise

Head to the tranquil center of Julia Davis Park for an up-close and personal look at over 200 animals from around the world. Zoo Boise is home to rare and endangered species not to be found in any other Idaho zoo, ranging from pandas to penguins, and features special exhibits such as “Butterflies in Bloom” and “Giraffe Encounters.”

Discovery Center

Ever wonder how hot air balloons fly or what makes a musical instrument sound the way it does? Let your imagination run wild at this interactive science center, where the exhibits and activities are so fascinating your kids will never know they’re actually learning something.

The North End

Known for its historic architecture, beautifully restored homes, wonderful antique shops, and inimitable restaurants, The North End is teeming with local charm and character. It also happens to be the natural hub for Boise’s die-hard cycling, hiking, and mountain-biking enthusiasts

Old Idaho Penitentiary and Idaho Botanical Garden

Distance: 3.2miles

Located on what was once the Idaho State Penitentiary’s nursery, the Botanical Garden takes you from felons to flowers with the beautiful Heirloom Rose Garden, flavorful Herb Garden and Children’s Adventure Garden, to name just a few. This is also the site of Boise’s best concerts, festival and outdoor events. At the penitentiary museum, visitors can sit in old prison cells, find out what solitary confinement feels like and get a behind-the-scenes look at daily life in the Idaho pokey.

Floating on the Boise River

Distance: 6 miles

If you haven’t taken the lazy five-mile float down the Boise River, you can’t claim to have experienced Boise. Whether you choose a tube, raft, or stand-up paddle board to float the course, there’s no better way to spend three hours on a beautiful Idaho day.

World Center for Birds of Prey

Distance: 12 Miles

Visit this sprawling, 580-acre preserve to learn about birds of prey from around the world, including hawks, owls, eagles, vultures and falcons. Attractions include a visitor center, a research library, an interpretive trail, captive breeding facilities, and the world-class Archives of Falconry.

Ballet Idaho

Distance: 0.3 miles

Ballet Idaho is Idaho's largest classic ballet company, and offers performances year-round.

Idaho Anne Frank Memorial

Distance: 0.4 miles

Inspired by Anne Frank, this beautiful park tucked off the greenbelt seeks to restore faith in the good of mankind in a compelling and aesthetically pleasing manner.

Ann Morrison Park

Distance: 1.0 mile

A pedestrian bridge links this 153-acre park to downtown Boise, and runs alongside the greenbelt and scenic Boise River.

Idaho State Capitol Building

Distance: 0.2 Miles

The Idaho State Capitol in Boise is the home of the government of the state of Idaho.

Boise Depot

Distance: 1.2 miles

The Boise Depot is used as public meeting space one of Boise's top historic sights. Opened in 1925, the facility boasts gorgeous Spanish-style structure, and offers a sprawling view of the city skyline.

Boise Centre

Distance: 500 ft

The Boise Centre provides accomodations for meetings, conferences, and social events.

Boise River Park

Distance: 2.3 miles

The Boise River Park is located between the Fairview Avenue and Veteran's Memorial Parkway Bridges on the Boise River off of Whitewater Park Boulevard. The park offers a waveshaper and viewing area off the greenbelt.

Bown Crossing

Distance: 4.5 Miles

Bown Crossing offers 59,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space in Southeast Boise.

Albertson's Stadium

Distance: 1.1 miles

Located on the campus of Boise State University, Albertsons Stadium is home to college football's famed blue astro-turf.

CenturyLink Arena

Distance: On-site

Connected to the hotel, the arena is Boise's premier venue for concerts, trade shows and events and is the home of the Idaho Steelheads hockey and Idaho Stampede basketball teams.

The Flicks

Distance: 0.2 Miles

Opened in 1984, The Flicks theatre shows independent, foreign and art films, as well as classic Hollywood movies.

The Greenbelt

Distance: 0.5 Miles

The Boise River Greenbelt offers 25 miles of paved jogging and biking paths connecting downtown Boise with adjacent neighborhoods and city parks.

Table Rock

Distance: 5.9 Miles

A nearby downtown hill, Table Rock is a perfect short climb for locals and travelers alike. Enjoy scenic vistas of the Boise skyline and surrounding valley. The climb to the summit is about 1.5 miles.

Julia Davis Park

Distance: 0.2 Miles

Julia Davis Park plays host to Zoo Boise, the Boise Art Museum, Idaho State Historical Museum and Idaho Black History Museum. The park also features a formal Rose Garden, two reservable picnic shelters, a six-court tennis complex, playground, duck pond, restrooms and a section of the Boise River Greenbelt.

The Village at Meridian

Distance: 10 Miles

With retail, restaurant, and office space the park-like layout of The Village at Meridian offers an upscale entertainment experience.

Lucky Peak Recreational Area

Distance: 12.5 Miles

Lucky Peak Recreational area can be used for a variety of activities to include: swimming, picknicking, fishing, boating or biking.

Morrison Knudsen Nature Center

Distance: 1.5 Miles

A 4.6 acre park, the Morrison Knudsen Nature Center offers a wildlife experience to capture a glimpse of Idaho's landscapes and wildlife.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From 1-84 & Airport: Take the Vista / Airport exit. Go north on Vista to Capitol Boulevard, and turn left on Capitol Boulevard after approximately one mile.  The hotel is located on the left-hand side of Capitol Boulevard - just three blocks south of the Capitol Building - at the corner of Front Street and Capitol Boulevard.

COMPLIMENTARY AIRPORT SHUTTLE

ARRIVAL - After picking up your luggage here in Boise, please give us a call at 208-333-8000. We ensure that you will be picked up within a 15 minute window. The shuttles are black and display The Grove Hotel logo.

DEPARTURE - When heading back home, please make a reservation for the shuttle at least 20 minutes prior to your required departure time from our property. Please call or visit the Guest Service desk in the lobby to check availability as spots on the shuttle are first come first serve.

PARKING

The Grove Hotel offers 2 parking choices during your stay. Underground self-parking can be accessed directly off Capitol Boulevard, available at a nightly rate of $15. Valet parking can be accessed by turning into our driveway off Front Street, available at a nightly rate of $22 (please see Renovation Driving Directions above if you are stayin gwith us from July 21 - September 4, 2018). The garage height clearance for valet and self-parking in the hotel's garage is 6'8" maximum. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide valet service for large trucks. Parking rates are subject to change.
